CONDITION: Mahogany and mahogany veneered case in an old finish has numerous worm holes and has suffered enough damage that additional new wood has been screwed to the inside case sides to support the seatboard. Repairs and damage at the door hinges. Shrinkage cracks at the top door. The left shaped wing just below the hood door is missing. The backboard is cracked down the middle and now has reinforcement to keep it together. The bottom door is warped. The movement has had numerous repairs. The support bridge for the pendulum is replaced. The verge and escape wheel are replaced. The original strike train has been replaced with parts from a brass shelf clock movement. The silvered brass dial has a flat edges on three sides. Period hands.

Gilbert Clock Co., Winsted, Conn., variant model similar to the Gem Extra' shelf clock with a spring driven 8 day time and strike brass movement in a rosewood veneered case, c1880.
CONDITION: (1) The lyre movement, stamped Plymouth, Conn. (the firm did not replace the old die with one with the town's newer name, Thomaston, until about 1890) is in good original condition. The dial pan, alarm and hands all appear original. The dial is repainted. The modern case is in good condition but not quite the quality of the original violin cases made by Seth Thomas by special order in 1885. (2) The case is is in very good condition with original finish. The gilt geometric pattern band around the base and the trim on the door may be later additions. The paper dial and hands are new. The case has a nice cathedral gong. The original stenciled door glass is particularly nice.

CONDITION: (1) This is the most complete clock and the only one with an alarm function. Oak case is dusty with an original finish. Left side of urn finial is replaced. Partial inner paper label. Good two barrel pendulum. Hands are old, but not correct. Glass looks good, but is a replacement. Bell mounted with a large wood screw. (2) Walnut case with large top finial. Finial is missing side pieces, but unfinished replacements are included with the clock. Finial on the top left is absent. Replaced dial. Original Maltese style hands. The glass is replaced. Trim piece on the right side of the drawer is absent. Base is absent. (3) Walnut case in fair condition. No top finial. Dial is absent. Nice retailer label from English retailer Camerer, Kuss & Co. DESCRIPTION: Daniel Pratt & Sons, Reading, Mass. 8 day, time and strike regulated by a pendulum spring brass movement drop octagon or schoolhouse wall clock.
CONDITION: Rosewood veneered case in an old finish has veneer repairs on the octagon band, the door and the slant bottom. Original painted dial has age darkened with poor repairs to the numbers. Original hands. Original tablet has loss. The carved side pieces at the drop area of the case are missing. Original card label inside.
