Co., Bristol, Conn.,. The tablets, the lower one with a likeness of J.C. Brown, are original with some fading of the color. The label is Upson Brothers, Marion, Conn.,. The ivory door knob is cracked.

DESCRIPTION: Reproduction 1820 Laterndluhr Vienna Regulator wall clock of long duration, regulated by a pendulum, weight driven brass movement
CONDITION: We have not tested the duration, but it is greater than 8 days and is most likely 30 days, possibly longer. This mahogany and maple case in generally nice condition has some lifting of the veneer in the bottom box behind the pendulum bob and a couple chips on the bottom bracket. The original enameled dial is fine. The seconds hand rotates once every two minutes. The steel rod pendulum runs off a knife edge suspension. The large hand indicates the minutes and based on the time of day the observer can tell that it is 3 minutes after one o'clock and not seven o'clock.

DESCRIPTION: Leland Hurst, Centennial, Colorado, 8 day, weight-driven brass movement double pendulum Astronomical dial wall timepiece. Mr. Hurst built five of these cases. The movement was built by a Mr. Don Schaffer.
CONDITION: nicely made cherry case with an Austrian coin inserted in the bottom bracket. Double wind brass weight movement that runs with two pendulums. The first pendulum regulates the timepiece and the second is a sympathetic pendulum that swings in unison with the first. The two pendulums also have an Austrian coin inserted in the center. Mr. Hurst reports this timepiece has running issues. It may be the support for the pendulum is not rigid enough and is causing the problem.

CONDITION: This porcelain case is clearly marked "La Veta" on the case back. We have sold the "La Veta" model before (with a different painted decoration) . We have also had examples of this case with marked "La Barque". The Ansonia catalogs show this model as "La Barque" and do not show a porcelain case called "La Veta". This case is in very good condition with a nicely crazed finish. The signed porcelain dial is in good condition with one small chip by the strike winding arbor. The hands are original. The movement is signed.

CONDITION: Refinished hardwood case has a small ding and a shrinkage crack at one of the case segments. A piece of the backboard where the hinge for the bezel is mounted is broken off and will need repair in order to reattach the bezel to the backboard. The painted wood dial is in nice condition for its age. Replaced hands are improper style and too short. This timepiece has an early version of the movement that was used in these gallery timepieces that was more robust with thicker plates. Clean label inside.

CONDITION: Mahogany veneered case has some loss on the base. Replaced dial. Original tablet. Hands are period and appear to be original with some loss to the hour hand tip. These cases were originally designed to house a 30 hour wood movement that had a spring capsule attached at the winding arbors to allow the movement to be spring driven. When this was not sucessful, a thick wood filler piece was added and the cases converted to house a brass movement.This clock is from the Jim Waldron collection.

CONDITION: Movement is clean and running, polished brass case is in good overall condition with minor marks and spots. Dial has marks and dull areas with some paint loss to the numerals. Mahogany stand is homemade for display purposes.
