Pleister, 277 Regent St., London, a giant carriage clock with perpetual calendar, very large five glass case with simple molded base and cornice, the stepped top with substantial folding handle, roman numeral silvered dial with blued steel Breguet style hands and gilt mask, the day, date, and month display at top, substantial two train fusee movement with damascened plates, the gilt platform with Earnshaw's escapement and cut bimetallic chronometer balance with helical spring, the signed back plate with aperture for viewing a disc attached to the contrate wheel arbor indicating seconds, and striking the hours on a large gong
CONDITION: Case polished and regilded, minor marks and scratches, minor casting flaws, left side glass with chip at upper right, dial and mask replaced, dial with spurious signature, back plate with evidence of plaque removed from over Pleister mark, running well and striking correctly, calendar working
