Spaulding & Co., Chicago & Paris, an ornate18th century style, bronze mounted, miniature tall clock with tortoise shell veneers, the case with rectangular b ase on cast feet, and framed cast panel, below a bold, molded surbase, the mid section of bombe form with bevelled glass panel and foliate mounts, the top resting on another heavy cast molding and with mounts flanking the roman numeral white enamel dial, signed, 8 day two train pendule de Paris movement, with Medusa pendulum and striking on a gong
CONDITION:
mounts very dirty and tarnished, transitional moldings dirty, but retain their brightness, veneers with splits, blisters and lifting, original bevelled trunk glass now held in place with hot glue, dial with filled loss in enamel at 12:00, minute hand an incorrect replacement, movement dirty, ticks and strikes, needs service, suspension broken, pendulum with replaced rod, bob with polish residue
