AUCTION : 1019

Lot#: 704

DESCRIPTION: E. Howard & Co. Boston, Mass., "No. 75 Regulator" wall clock, 8 days, time only, weight driven movement in a mahogany case with reverse painted tablet and painted metal dial.
CONDITION: The case is in very good condition with some original finish. There are some abrasive marks of the left and right fronts of the door frame. The base to the clock is probably a replacement due to a runaway weight as it does not show the same age as the adjacent wood and has nails on the side of the case to hold the base in place. The original painted dial is in good condition with minor flaking in several areas and around the mounting holes. The dial signature has been enhanced. The hands are original. The upper door glass is original. The lower door tablet is original with some restoration. The No. 70 movement is signed. The weight baffle is replaced. The damaskeen design on the pendulum bob shows significant wear. The original cast iron weight is marked "70".
