DESCRIPTION: Rockford Watch Co., Rockford, Illinois, a man's gold pocket watch, 18 size, 11 jewels, stem wind and lever set, gilt plate movement, lever escapement and cut bimetallic balance in a 14 karat, yellow gold, hinged back and bezel, open face case, roman numeral, single sunk white enamel dial, blued steel morning glory hands, serial #256670, 131.6g TW, c1885.
CONDITION: CASE: Originally a hunting case, professionally converted to open face; Minor dings and shallow dents, back; Scratches on outer surface of case; Fine scratches on inner surface of case; Front hinge a bit sticky; Plastic crystal with fine scratches; Bow worn, gold filled; Crown worn; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Flakes in enamel concealed by bezel; Scratches. HANDS: Rusted. MOVEMENT PLATES: Minor dings and scratches; Scratch from center to edge of plate; Oily, dirty; Regulator with specks of oxide; Some screws with minor oxide and loss to blue. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Not running, fully wound, will tick briefly, setting functional, needs service.
