DESCRIPTION: American Waltham Watch Co, Waltham, Mass., model 1892 "Vanguard" with wind indicator, 18 size, 21 jewels, stem wind and lever set, adjusted, damascened nickel plate movement with lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, gold jewel settings, gold timing screws and Ohlson micrometric regulator in a yellow gold filled, screw back and bezel, engraved open face case, and Canadian 24-hour Arabic numeral, double sunk white enamel dial, blued steel spade and poker hands, serial #17077272, c1910
CONDITION: CASE: Case has housed another movement; Fine scratches on outer surface of case; Scratches on inner surface of case; Gold filled with minor brassing; Bow worn and with brassing; Crown lacking gold shell. DIAL: Hairlines in enamel, light, 12:00 and at wind indicator; Losses to enamel at wind indicator. HANDS: Indicator hand replaced; Minor oxide, minute. MOVEMENT PLATES: Fine scratches on plate; Fine scratches on winding wheels; Winding wheels with a few specks of oxide; Regulator assembly with specks of oxide; Ratchet wheel and balance cock screws replaced; Escape upper jewel setting with minor marring; Specks of dirt. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks) . Wind indicator not working.
