Welch, Forestville, Conn., wall clock, 8 day, time and strike, spring driven movement in a walnut case with carved elements, c1880.
CONDITION: (1) Case has very little finish suggesting that it may have been rubbed down some time ago. Some oxidation on the brass portions of dial and pendulum bob. Hands and glass appear to be original. Bottom finial has been reglued. Pendulum rod may be a replacement. The movement is signed. A similar cased was used for Kroeber's Regulator No. 31. (2) The case with original finish which has been selectively cleaned. Dial with some stains. Lower finials on either side are replacements. Center finial may be a shortened original. Movement is signed. Dimensions are for the time and strike (2) .
