CONDITION:
The case retains some original finish and has no veneer loss. The 4 finials all retain fairly sharp points. The painted dial is original but has a later curved cut out between XII and I, apparently to view the escape wheel. The hands are period, the hour hand original, the minute hand not but close. The upper door glasses are both original with the lower glass tablet showing a colorful design within a green border. The lower glass is original with another colorful design within a green border. The interior Manross label is in good condition.

England, signed Smith, Clerkenwell, c1890 chain fusee pub movement, now in a modern skeletonized frame representing Brighton Pavilion, the frame appearing to have been cut on an EDM wire machine, and then polished by hand. The silvered dial is nicely fretted and the Roman Numerals are sharply engraved and black filled. The frame surmounted by a bell that is struck once on the passing of each hour. Covered by a round glass dome and mounted on a turned walnut base.
CONDITION:
this clock is generally clean and is running robustly. Some file marks remain within the fretted areas that could be polished out, but overall the woman did a good job of finished the frames. Original chain is intact.

European (Continental), small bracket clock, late 18th century, with fusee / crown wheel / pivoted pendulum movement, and engraved brass dial, in a primitive bell top case of English appearance, with slide-up back and with restorations. Approx 3 day duration (6 rounded channels in fusee) .
CONDITION:
gut is worn and needs replacing, but was strong enough for a little wind and to show that the movement is running. Movement is held to a seat board via screws through bottom pillars, and that board is held in case with a single wood screw at bottom. Although case is quite old, it is probably not the original for this movement. Well engraved brass dial needs silvering. Object left side molding needs re-gluing. Still an attractive adaptation of a well made movement that will appeal to those attracted to mechanics. Movement plates measure 3 x 3.5in.

Italian, dial or shield clock, painted iron roman numeral dial, front hung cow's tail pendulum (lacking bob), one day duration posted iron frame movement with crown wheel and verge escapement, countwheel bell strike, rope drive.
CONDITION:
this clock came to us as-found from the early collection of Dr. Hugh Grant Rowell. There is a lot of surface rust on the movement, no drive rope, small disc for pendulum is absent. There is paint loss and rust on thin iron dial, about 70% remains visible. Hour hand is original, minute hand a crude replacement. However it is a 17th Century clock, over 350 years old, and should appeal to the European horologist.

CONDITION:
Mahogany and mahogany veneered case in an old finish has some veneer loss on the base, a broken tip on the left scroll of the jester splat and a poor repair to the right scroll. Period painted dial has turned yellow from a later application of shellac or varnish. This painted dial is probably a period replacement as the period hands are for a dial with the chapter ring inside the chapter. Someone has gouged out an area on the movement front to allow the pendulum to swing. The clock now has a gong rather than a bell. Original painted tablet has scattered loss and some inpainting. Two repro pineapple finials. Clean label inside. Original twist columns and feet. This is a scarce Jerome model worthy of restoration.

Loheide MFG. Co., St. Louis, Mo., "Automatic Sales Machine" clock and trade stimulator (often called a gambling clock). 8 day, time and token dispenser, spring driven in a black enameled wood case. The clock has a coin slot at the top. When a nickel was deposited, it triggered the strike train of the clock which drives a token dispensing system. A modified countwheel will dispense one, two, and on rare occasion, three tokens in the tray mounted to the side of the clock. Tokens were then exchanged for small items at the retail location.
CONDITION:
balance wheel train of the movement will need attention. The token dispenser works well and comes with two tokens of the right type. Paper dial is stained. Black enamel case has small scratches and losses. Original sign that was mounted to the top is absent. Brass coin tray is inside the clock.

New Hampshire style mirror wall clock with 8 day, time only, weight driven, brass movement in a mahogany case with reverse painted tablet and mirror.
CONDITION:
this timepiece is made up of old and new parts. The main case is period, but has strips of wood added to increase the depth. The front door looks period and the mirror is period. The dial glass was painted by Tom Moberg. The movement, pulley, hands and pendulum are modern. It has a period iron dial which works with this movement, although there is an extra hole near 11 o'clock indicating it was originally on an alarm movement. The dial has a later signature of Wm. Cummens, Roxbury (Mass.) .

Patent Timepiece or "Banjo" Clock, Concord, Massachusetts, the mahogany veneered, gilded rope molded case with acorn finial over the zinc roman numeral dial, original reverse-painted glasses, the lower depicting "Aurora" on her festooned chariot driven by two winged horses set before a gleaming sunrise and framed within a geometric border, the waist glass flanked by brass side ornaments in gold, green and red frames gilt scroll work within a gilt border, below is a gilded pedestal with fluted acorn drop and eight balls, eight day brass movement with alternate train layout, cut-outs on front and back plates, and recoil escapement and regulated by a brass-faced lead backed pendulum bob and iron rod.
CONDITION:
Replacement zinc dial, lacking weight, losses to period gilding, both reverse-painted glasses original, movement with no significant repairs of replacements, original hands, side ornaments and brass bezel, tie-down now gone, a 2.5in x .25in portion of bezel glass now gone, movement trapezoidal keystone cut out in the lower right corner, movement attached to the case with one screw through the back, "bat wing" pallet bridge and remains of "bat wing" tie down all point to a Concord origin. Chestnut secondary wood throughout the case including case back, sides and all blocking with heavy mahogany veneer is somewhat unusual but seen on Concord examples.

CONDITION:
around 15 years ago, a clock this nice would have garnered 600 dollars. Considering its age, the clock is very nice. Retains super Fenn tablets, center with lion and unicorn supporting a crown, the lower with a hummingbird and flowers. The full label is very good with a center split following a dry split in the back-board. Original dial paint is completely un-touched. Veneer is excellent. If you want one example of this model, this is the ONE.

CONDITION:
Dial cleaned and relined, original case finish in nice condition, original lacquer on weight, original printed label in the base of the clock is still readable, but discolored.
