Henry Blank & Co. was well known for their watches and jewelry, bearing their Cresarrow trade mark. They were suppliers to high end retailers including Tiffany & Co., Black, Starr & Frost, Udall & Ballou, J.E. Caldwell & Co., Shreve, Crump, & Low, and many others. His company is known to have used Nicole, Nielsen movements in some of their products. Henry blank travelled to Europe in 1912 to meet with watch manufacturers in Switzerland, and with stone dealers in Paris, Belgium, and Amsterdam. His return trip was booked on the ill fated Titanic, and he managed to survive the sinking. This watch was probably made for his son, Philip E. Blank.

DESCRIPTION: England, for A.C. Ross, Zanesville, Ohio, fusee pocket watch, 7 jewels, key wind and set gilt full plate movement, with lever escapement, and gold balance in a sterling silver, engine turned and engraved, consular open face case with London hallmark and date letter for the year 1850, and Roman numeral, single sunk, white enamel dial, original blued steel hands, serial #6760, 49mm.
CONDITION: CASE: Dirty and tarnished; Minor dings and scratches; Engine turning with moderate wear; Crystal with minor scratches; Bow worn; Bow replaced; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Tiny flake at edge of seconds bit, otherwise very good. HANDS: Very good. MOVEMENT PLATES: A few minor scratches; Dirty; Dust cap missing. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Runs with pressure on fusee, chain detached from barrel.
