The iron dial looks to have had a coat of varnish applied that has now turned yellow along with scattered paint loss. Moon dial is in nice condition as well as the date wheel. The hour hand is probably replaced, but a proper style. The false plate that attaches the dial to the movement is not signed. (2) This movement and dial have been baptized by fire and has destroyed the paint on the dial and covered the movement with smoke residue. There is rust on the steel work caused by acid in the smoke, but movement can be probably be restored if the acid can be neutralized. The dial can be repainted . There are no weights or pendulums for these movements. Both Dials are approximately 12" x 17"

CONDITION: Mahogany veneered case in original finish. There is veneer loss at the bottom cross piece and small piece at the top cross piece. The cap under the left corbel is broken off and the chimney caps beside the scrolls are missing. The left bottom block on the door is missing and the right block is damaged. Both tablets are original with scattered loss. The right reeded pilaster has minor damage. Mirror is a replacement, but the wood backing for the mirror is original. The blue and sponge painted interior is original. Ht 54"

DESCRIPTION: German, Black Forest, Two Note Trumpeter, in a hunting motif case, flanked by well detailed dog's heads, guns and powder flask at bottom, and the top trimmed with a deer head, all with oak leaves surrounding, c1900
CONDITION: this is a clock that will respond to restoration, however the horns are missing from the 2 reed boxes and only one note is currently sounding. Has a heavy square bras movement signed "G.H.S." (Gordian Hettich & Sohn), plates a little approx 4 3/4" (12cm) wide and tall. Chains, weights and pendulum intact. Tip is off right ear of deer; antlers are replaced. Trumpeter figure is now a child's plastic soldier. Ht 26"

CONDITION: the oak case was refinished some time ago, looks OK, but is dull. The 4 door trims are a variant of the reeded capitals with finials that we are used to seeing. The movement has been cleaned and re-strung and is ticking robustly, keeping good time. The paper dial is original, however the paper center is absent; replacements are available. Ht 54"

DESCRIPTION: Seth Thomas Clock Co., Thomaston, Conn., "Marcy" wall clock in a walnut case with a three train, 8 days, spring driven movement, striking the quarter hours on 2 cup bells and the hours on a cathedral gong, c1886.
CONDITION: While all 4 finials are intact, the rest of the base piece and top piece to the case are absent. The walnut case has been refinished. The dial has been professionally repainted by the Dial House. The hands are original. The movement is signed. The door glasses are original. The nickel plated pendulum bob is nicely damaskeened. The date of January, 1886 (6881A) is stencilled on the back of the case. Ht 40 " (should be 46 " with the base and top pieces).

CONDITION: the movement backplate has the M.P. trademark with a pine tree. The crest is present, but a top side molding strip is missing. The pendulum may not be original since the crutch pin does not fit in its slot. The finish is old and worn with worm holes and veneer losses. Case has been reglued poorly. Sold as is, no further details available. Ht 47"

DESCRIPTION: Attributed to Eleazer Carey, Windham, Conn. American tall clock, 8 days, time and strike, weight driven movement in a cherry case with painted metal dial with rocking ship bearing American flag, c1810.
CONDITION: the case retains its original finish. The left upper return molding is absent and a molding on the trunk is loose. The applied bracket base has lost two inches and the top appears to have been trimmed down a long time ago. The dial has several deep gouges and paint loss to the scene behind the rocking ship. The weights are replacements. The attribution is made as Carey used these very unsual shaped movement plate posts. Ht 84 1/2" Width 18 1/2"

DESCRIPTION: England, tall clock with engraved brass dial signed "Richard Cornish, Westerham" (County Kent). 8 days, time and strike, weight driven movement in an oak case with flat cornice top and glazed aperture for revealing pendulum, 18th century.
CONDITION: the dial of this clock was originally fitted with a, 30 hours, single-hand movement, which was been replaced much later by 8 days, two movement. Note there are only 48 graduations on the dial (one for each 15 minutes) for a single hand, and no 60 minute outer markings for a minutes. Also the winding holes for the later 8 days movement winding arbors have been drilled through the engraving. The dial and case may have started life together perhaps in the 1720's or 1730's, but the present movement is 40 or 50 years later. The hands and pendulum are old, but the weights are modern. Ht 78" Width 19 1/2"
