DESCRIPTION: Silas Hoadley 30 hour alarm timepiece, weight driven movement in correct style bench-made case. The movement is period, c1835.
CONDITION: The case is inscribed on the back: "Made by George F. Ford for a Silas Hoadley time-piece and alarm movement". [The late George Ford of New York state was a Hoadley descendant and collected and studied Hoadley clocks.] This clock has a good copy of a Hoadley alarm timepiece case of the 1835 period. Some old wood and case parts were used and some parts are new. The movement is missing the alarm train and alarm bell. The dial, while resembling a Hoadley dial, is new and the hands are new copies. The door appears to have been made from a period door which was extended in length, The mirror and upper glass are old. Ht 23 1/4".

CONDITION: In the mid 1970s, to fill a demand of interest in English skeleton clocks, the firm of Marton & Gain, SA, with offices in Madrid, was producing 1, 2 & 3 train skeleton clocks, after English patterns, for about 2 years. The quarter chime model proved problematic, however, the single train was reliable. This clock is one of early production, and is well finished with an engraved and silvered chapter ring, and a nicely finished walnut base. The glass dome is well made, light and clear. Ht of clock frame = 13", overall with base and dome = 15"

CONDITION: (1)Mahogany veneered case in fine condition with original finish. Original painted dial with some loss at the mounting pins on one corner and wear around the winding arbors. Tip of one finial is broken off. Hands are original. Nice Fenn tablet. (2)Rosewood veneered case in original finish with veneer issues on round and flat surfaces. Original signed painted dial with some loss at the mounting pins. Hands are original. Fenn Tablet is original with some lifting and minor flaking. Movement retains original brass springs. Tips of the finials have minor loss.

CONDITION: the Waterbury appears to be the Sage but without a top glass. The case retains an old glossy surface but one beveled side glass panel has edge chips. The novelty has an old patina and its paper dial is stained. The carriage clock ticks; the other does not. Ht of pallet is 10", carriage is 5 1/2" to top of handle

CONDITION: the R/A case appears to be softwood so we are not sure of its age or origin, nor about the name on the dial, but its overall condition is good. The spring-wound works have lantern pinions. The larger clock shows some wear and finish loss; the glass panels are okay. The white porcelain dial has a hairline. The movement back plate has a stamped trademark showing the profile of an old helmut with "UTR" on it. Sold as is, no further details available. Hts. 44" and 41"

CONDITION: (1)Refinished cherry case now stained a brown color on the doors. Someone has drilled holes in the throat frames to attach it to the case. The original painted dial has scattered paint loss, poor inpainting and stains. Original hands. Both tablets have some age, but are probably not original. Original pendulum and a Hatch centering guide (2)Mahogany case in original finish with some minor scratches. Original tablets with some minor lifting. Silvered dial is very nice for its age. Original hands.
