CONDITION: the base and inside of case are dirty. The lathe has some minor wear commensurate with use. The collets and chucks have some light wear from use. Wood case with scuffs and stains. Almost every spot in the case is full, so the set is very nearly complete. Dimensions are for the closed wood box.

CONDITION: (1) Some loss of plating and light rust on lathe. Headstock drawbar is absent. Spindle turns freely. Unit comes with a bench-top motor speed controller rather than a foot switch. Countershaft is dirty and rusty. Large set of collets of various brands. (2) Some light pitting on the nickel plating. Drawbar is missing. Swing tailstock is old, but incomplete. Bench made countershaft with ball bearings. Collets of various brands. Nice cross slide with one bent handle that does not affect its operation. Sold "as is".

DESCRIPTION: C. & E. Marshall Co., Chicago, Ill., compound cross slide for 8mm watchmaker's lathe, three graduated wheels for manipulating the tool post, protractor arc from-50 to +50 degrees, dull nickel plated finish.
CONDITION: this useful accessory is in very nice condition. Brass is showing through on the ends of the handles where they are held by the operator. No tool post is included. Though Marshall lathes often used the groove in the center of the bed to align tools and accessories, this cross slide comes with a shoe mounted to the bottom (much like what one would find on a Derbyshire) This will allow you to mount the cross slide perpendicular to the bed on lathes with the ways on the outside edges of the bed. Aligning this cross slide to a Marshall, Peerless, or Moseley lathe with ways on the inner groove may require some ingenuity. The tool is signed on the top.
