CONDITION: all units are used and very dirty inside the tanks. The larger units are great for big clock movements. No heaters. All three large cleaners have wire baskets to keep parts off of the bottom of the tank. Sold "as is".

DESCRIPTION: Parts: 3 (Three) swinging clocks: lot includes three compound pendulums with spring driven movements for small swinging mystery clocks. Two are by Gebüder Junghans for models such as "Elephant", "Elegance"(often called "Diana), "Bat Boy" and others. The other is of German or French manufacture, cylindrical head, and is about one inch longer than than the Junghans models.
CONDITION: (1) Junghans swing clock arm is in good condition, crystal missing, signed white enamel dial, signed movement, mainspring in going barrel, winding and setting knobs absent. (2) Junghans swing clock arm is in good condition, bezel is absent, dial is loose, missing minute hand, unsigned movement, mainspring is in a going barrel, white dial reads "Made in Germany". (3) Unknown make, suspension springs twisted, minute hand missing, unsigned movement, this unit hangs like most French and Ansonia models and does not rest in a jeweled bar like the Junghans models.

DESCRIPTION: Blinking Eye Clocks- 2 (Two): (1) Waterbury Clock Co., Waterbury, CT "Continental" blinking eye or winker clock, 30 hour, spring driven balance wheel movement in a cast iron case featuring a continental soldier in a red coat with bicorn hat, c1856; (2) "Continental" blinking eye or winker case only in cast iron featuring a continental soldier with blue coat and tricorn hat, c1856.
CONDITION: (1) Vibrant paint has worn off in many places. The hands and cuffs are painted the same color as are the hair and rear collar, which suggests an amateur restoration long ago. The base has very nicely done gold stencil work that has faded considerably. Original paper dial and trefoil hands. The movement is signed by Waterbury and shows signs of life. The eyes are missing, as are the linkages to them. Trademark cast into base. (2) Case only. Excellent paint job which includes pinstriping on the base and the edges of the clothing, as well as gradient tones on the face. This paint was applied over a white layer, which may have been a primer coat of white lead. If so, the second coat may be original. Some losses of paint on the hands, legs, and forehead. Original paper dial. Both are early examples with "Patent Applied for 1856" and Bradley & Hubbard trademark is cast into the base. Bradley & Hubbard, Meriden, Conn., cast the cases, but movements were installed and sold by Waterbury and other firms associated with the American Clock Co., New York.

DESCRIPTION: Clocks- 2 (Two) (1) C. & L.C. Ives, Bristol, Conn., 8 day, time and strike weight driven brass movement triple decker shelf clock. (2) C. & L.C. Ives, Bristol, Conn., 8 day, time and strike weight driven brass movement triple decker shelf clock. Both with Ives' rolling pinion strap movements.
CONDITION: (1) Mahogany veneered case in an old finish has a repair at the top door. Key escutcheon on the bottom door is missing. Both tablets are replaced. Original painted dial in nice condition. Original hands. Someone has reversed the caps on the chimney blocks. Slightly dark label inside. (2) Mahogany veneered case in original finish has some roughness on the bottom edge of the bottom door and a small piece of veneer missing as well. Small veneer damage on the cross strip just above the bottom door, the cross strip just below and above the top door. Original painted dial has age darkened. The minute hand is replaced. Someone was a skilled artist who painted the image of George Washington and a fishing scene on canvas as tablet replacements. Slightly dark label inside.

DESCRIPTION: Clocks- 2 (Two) Bulle (1) Bulle Clock Co., France, Model 100 "Bulle Dome" mantel clock, time only, battery-powered electro-magnetic movement, arabic numeral painted metal dial and black steel spade hands, all under a round glass dome resting on a turned wood base, c1925; (2) Bulle-Clock, France, mantel clock, time only, battery-powered electro-magnetic movement, arabic numeral painted metal dial and black steel spade hands, all under a glazed case with mahogany base and top, c1930.
CONDITION: (1) Glass dome has a crack that runs from top to bottom. The painted metal dial is good, with some losses near the center and on the outer edge. A modern battery holder has been wired to go into the original battery column. The modern hold has corrosion from a leaking battery. Original cloth-covered wire looks to be in good shape, but the unit was not tested. (2) The clock is in very nice condition. Some tarnish on the brass sides of the glass case. The dial is very good. The clock has been rewired at some point in the past. Alligator clips are now present in the original battery compartment. Details on Bulle can be found in the book "150 YEARS OF ELECTRIC HOROLOGY", 1992 by the NAWCC. Dimensions provided are for the rectangular Bulle (2) Sold "as is".

The other clock case, numbered 309561, has been taken down to brass. Silvered dial has yellowed very slightly, but is otherwise very good. Movement ticks, but was not tested long term. Both clocks are missing glasses.

Corp., Weedsport, NY, mantel clock, electric battery movement in a brass frame, silvered dial with subsidiary seconds, black steel hands, all under a glass dome resting on a turned wood base, c1938.
CONDITION: (1) oak base with some fine nicks to the finish. Silver colored dial is in very good condition. Mechanically quite simple. The wiring looks sound and complete, but the clock was not tested. The dial is signed "MADE IN ENGLAND". The movement is not signed. (2) Wood base is in very good condition. Silvered dial is excellent. Proper pendulum is included. Glass dome fits very well and is probably original. When the Poole Mfg. Co. stopped production, the Barr Mfg. Co. took over the site in 1937 and began to manufacture battery clocks based on the Poole design.Dimensions are for the Barr (2) Sold "as is".

DESCRIPTION: Clocks- 2 (Two) electromechanical wall clocks: (1) Bulle Clock Co., France, wall clock, battery powered movement with electromagnetic pendulum in a mahogany case with cast bronze trim to the door and crest, arabic numeral painted metal dial, and blued steel hands; (2) ATO Etablissements SA, Leon Hatot, France for retailer A. Guerry, Polliat, France, wall clock, time and strike, battery powered movement with iron core pendulum swinging through electromagnets on either side in an oak case with gilt metal dial with arabic numerals and black steel hands.
CONDITION: (1) Except for a modern battery holder, the Bulle is overall excellent and original. The finish is original with some very small scrapes and scratches. The signed dial is unblemished. This is one of over 100 case designs from this prolific French maker; (2) In very good condition. The ATO has a gilt dial, and signed by the retailer. The oak case has been refinished to a medium brown. Batteries are serviced through a hinged door at rear of case. Dimensions are for the Bulle (1) Sold "as is".

CONDITION: (1) Bright brass case with a few dark oxidation spots. Signed silvered dial is very good. Original hands. Some residue from a leaking battery on the back cover. Movement serial number 57610. Located at 9 Boulevard Poissonnière in Paris, the Comptoir Général was a famous retailer featuring jewelery, bronzes, timepieces, furniture, precious stones, marble sculptures, silverware, and more. (2) Brass case is in good condition with a bit of tarnish. Dial and hands are excellent. Insulation on some of the internal wiring looks old and cracked. Second dial is evident when looking into the back. Pendulum with wood rod and brass bob. Dimensions are for the Gillette (2) Sold "as is".

Ltd., London, England, electromechanical timepiece, long-running, battery powered tall movement with large exposed balance oscillating below the arabic numeral white enamel dial with blued steel hands, all resting on a hollow brass base, and covered with a glass dome, c1906.
CONDITION: (1) Brass components tarnished and with deteriorating lacquer, dial good with two small stains, dome with missing piece at base, hands good, movement ticks when small weight is raised, condition of wiring unknown. Movement serial number 928. These were only made for a few years and are quite rare. (2) Base with very dark tarnish and uneven oxidation, dial with multiple cracks but no losses, hands good, dome dirty, balance oscillates freely, balance spring good, condition of wiring is unknown, serial number 7811. Dimensions are for the Eureka.

CONDITION: (1) Polished stone case is in very good condition. There are some chips on the bottom and back edges. The dial is good with one scratch and some wear around the winding arbor holes. Dial is signed "Brunott / Rotterdam". The three cast figures are very good. The movement is signed "JS" which may be for J. Soldano of Paris. (2) Case is dusty, but in good condition. Impressive dog statues have lost a small amount of their finish. Dial is in good condition. Bell stand is broken, but easy to replace. Bell and nut are included. Thieble pendulum. (2) Case with old wood elements was probably put together in the early 20th century to house the much older movement. White dial is good, with a few chips and hairlines. Rectangular movement with canted corners and thread suspension. The mainspring is protected by a stationary brass collar that is not a going barrel. DESCRIPTION: Clocks- 2 (Two) Mountain State Electrical Co., Wheeling, W. Virginia, "No-Key" clocks, weight driven brass movements with battery powered automatic winding, brass bases, arabic numeral white celluloid dials with blackened brass hands under glass domes.
CONDITION: tarnished bases. Both with good dials and hands. Domes seem a little tall, but they match each other and fit the base perfectly. Some replaced wiring is evident. Electromagnets are used to periodically raise a small weight that causes a pawl to engage with a ratchet connected to the first wheel in the train. A very short-lived company that went into production in 1912 and was wiped out of business by a flood in 1913. Not many of these clocks have survived. These two are serial numbers "778" and "234". Sold "as is".

Silentia dimensions listed.

The putto figure was added to the clock. Beveled glasses are good. Dial is very good with a tiny chip around the rate adjustment arbor. The hands have been painted a dark red. Pallets are carnelian. DESCRIPTION: Clocks- 2 (Two): (1) Gebrüder Junghans AG, Schramberg, Germany, Vienna style wall clock, time and strike, spring driven brass movement in a walnut case with keyhole-form window, white enamel dial, blackened steel hands, c1880; (2) Eastern Europe, reproduction lantern clock, 30 hour, time and strike, weight driven brass movement with recoil escapement in a posted brass frame with pierced crest, turned finials, and brass dial, single blackened brass hand, all on a figured walnut bracket, c1970.
CONDITION: (1) The case is in very good shape and has been given a fresh application of clear coat. The white enamel dial is perfect. Embossed brass pendulum bob. Strikes on a gong. (2) The reproduction is fairly well made, but lacking many details that one would find on true lantern clocks. Brian Loomes states that these reproduction first appeared in the 1960s. The dial is cast (not engraved) with the name "Thomas Moore / Ipswich"-- a clockmaker who lived in the early 18th Century. The inside has a modern serial number reading "15970" which may be a date code indicating Sept. 15, 1970. Dimensions are for the Junghans wall clock (1) Sold "as is".

CONDITION: (1) The case is a labeled Gilbert "Occidental" case. The movement and dial have been replaced by an Ansonia movement and dial. The center top finial appears to be partially modified from the original depicted in the Gilbert Catalogue. (2) The clock is in very good condition for a 20th century version of the original Gilbert "Occidental". The movement is a signed Gilbert movement, c1900.

The two flat-topped crest pieces are absent. These pieces could be made and will greatly increase the value of an otherwise very nice clock. (2) The case is in good condition with a new application of glossy clear coat. The cylindrical weights are new replacements. The wooden dial is a replacement. The unusual strap brass movement is unsigned and in very good condition. Most of the inner label is gone. New mirrors. Dimensions are for the Ithaca (1) Sold "as is".

CONDITION: (1) Mahogany and mahogany veneered case in an old finish has some small chips on the bottom door and a couple filled spots on the waist door. Repainted original dial. Original hands. Both tablets are very old and look original. The weight movement is unusual in that it is smaller than usual and the hands are held in place with a nut rather than a taper pin. The finial plinth has been added and the finial is modern. (2) Mahogany and mahogany veneered case in an old finish has some shrinkage cracks to the half round door moldings and at the dial door. Bottom tablet is cracked. Both tablets look replaced. The painted dial is period, but may not be original to this clock as there are extra holes in the head. Original hands. The two wood sidearms have lost their top ends and have been reshaped. Original finial.
