DESCRIPTION: Chelsea Clock Co., Boston, Mass., for E.F. Caldwell & Co., New York, cartel style hanging timepiece, 8 day, time only, spring driven movement with lever escapement in a cast metal gilt case with addorsed goat's heads holding garlands, central bow knot below the dial, and top with urn finial, arabic numeral white painted metal dial, and pierced, fancy brass hands.
CONDITION: case in very good condition with original gilding, dial very good, hands and beveled glass good, signed movement is ticking, movement serial number 177845.

DESCRIPTION: Chelsea Clock Co., Boston, Mass., "Pendulum No. 1", 8 day, weight driven brass movement wall timepiece. Movement is numbered 6525.
CONDITION: The golden oak case in nice condition in an old finish. The weight baffle has been replaced. The hold down is missing. Original pendulum. Original unsigned painted dial has minor loss at the mounting screws and at the center and winding arbor holes. There is a scratch in paint at about 9 o'clock.The latch to release the top door is missing. The minute hand is a replacement. The hour hand is not the same as that shown in the catalog, but appears to be original. Movement is signed.

DESCRIPTION: Chelsea Clock Co., Boston, Mass., for Harrison & Co., Montreal, marine clock, 8 day, time and ship strike, spring-driven jeweled movement with lever escapement in a polished brass case with hinged bezel, the arabic numeral silvered dial with 7 inch chapter ring, black steel Breguet style hands.
CONDITION: case with hazy lacquer, no major dents or scratches, signed silvered dial with some dark tarnish, dial retaining ring absent, paint loss on hands, bezel latch weak, small losses to black fill within numerals, movement serial number 129465. In all likelihood, Chelsea advertised this clock as having an 8 inch dial.

DESCRIPTION: Boston Clock Co., Boston, Mass., wall regulator with a weight driven 8 day timepiece movement in a walnut case..
CONDITION: The case is in very good condition with some original finish. The base and weight baffle show evidence of repair, likely from a runaway weight, The original dial has been repainted. The hands are original. The movement is signed "Boston Clock Co., Boston" and carries a serial number of 571, which also appears on the case. The weight is marked "70" and may be a Howard 70 weight. The original gilt and black tablet is in very good condition. The upper door glass is original.

DESCRIPTION: Chelsea Clock Co., Boston, Mass., "Carver" wall mounted weather station, 8 day, time only, spring driven movement, thermometer, barometer and hygrometer in a mahogany case with string inlay, silvered dials, and blued steel hands.
CONDITION: the piece is in very nice condition. The case has a good original finish. The silvered dials are excellent. The movement ticks when wound. Serial number 573893. A very attractive example.

DESCRIPTION: Chelsea Clock Co., Boston, Mass., for Jordan Marsh Company, Boston, rare "Louis XVI" model wall clock, 8 day, time and ship's bells, spring driven movement with lever escapement in a cast bronze case with dark patina, silvered special dial with applied arabic numerals within a 5 inch chapter ring, and pierced hands.
CONDITION: case with dark patination is in good condition. There is a crack to the top portion. It is still connected, but should be treated with care. There is some flaking of the patinated surface on the front side. The silvered dial is in good condition with some minor spots and nicks. There is a bit of wear to the finish on the right size of the bezel. Hands are good. The balance appears to be sound and the clock strikes. The movement ticks and stops so it probably needs to be cleaned. Signed movement is stamped with serial number serial 179450. See Demeter's book, second edition, page 189. According to our research, this clock rarely comes up for sale.

DESCRIPTION: Chelsea Clock Co., Boston, Mass., ship's clock, 8 day, time and ship's strike, spring driven movement with lever escapement in a brass case with hinged bezel, 7.5 inch chapter ring on a metal dial with arabic numerals and blued steel hands, all mounted to a bench-made wood base.
CONDITION: brass case with a dark, original patina. The bezel catch button has been replaced with an an aluminum piece that works well. The screws holding the movement to the case should be replaced. The dial has very little silver remaining and is covered in a thick coat of degraded lacquer. Thick black finish on hands is worn through in a few place. Signed movement is serial number 178027. Movement ticks and strikes. This is a good candidate for some restoration. This dial with a 7.5 inch chapter ring is what Chelsea often marketed as a 8.5 inch dial, which technically is its total diameter.

DESCRIPTION: Chelsea Clock Co., Boston, Mass., for Rattermann Co., "Base and Ball" shelf clock, 8 day, time and ship's bell strike, spring driven movement with jeweled lever escapement in a bronze finish case, 5 inch chapter ring on a silvered dial with arabic numerals and blued steel hands.
CONDITION: original bronze finish is very good with some slight spotting of the protective lacquer. Silvered dial is very good and signed "Rattermann" in addition to "Chelsea / Ships's Bell". Small amount of oxidation on the hands. The signed movement is serial number 551118. The clock strikes readily. The balance is good, but probably needs cleaning. Please note: Chelsea marketed this model with the 5 inch chapter as having a 6 inch dial.

CONDITION: case with a multitude of fine dents on the side, polished, unsigned dial is very good and may have been resilvered, black fill in numbers deteriorating slightly, dial retaining ring is absent, movement serial number 84839, running. Chelsea likely marketed this size as an 8 inch dial.

DESCRIPTION: William L. Gilbert Clock Co., Winsted, Conn., "Amphion" shelf clock, 8 day, time and strike, spring driven movement in a walnut case with burl accents, cut glass mirror panels in the case adjacent to and below the door, and matching cut glass pendulum bob.
CONDITION: The case is in very good condition. The original finish may have had some clear coat added to it in spots. The paper dial is a replacement. The pendulum has a fancy cut glass bob with a star design. The door glass may be a replacement. The three cut glass mirror panels are in good condition. There is a partial rear label. The hands appear to be original. The movement, with intact stopworks, is signed.

DESCRIPTION: William L. Gilbert Clock Co., Winsted, Conn., "Regulator No. 11" wall timepiece, 8 day, two-weight driven brass movement in a walnut case.
CONDITION: case in nice condition in an original finish. The paper dial has been replaced. Original hands, movement and pendulum. The small squares on the top crest had small ball on each one, but the holes appear to have been plugged a long time ago. Unusual time-only movement uses two weights that share a single winding drum.
