DESCRIPTION: Reproduction Congreve rolling ball timepiece, spring driven fusee movement with separate white enamel dials for minutes, hours and seconds, the movement supported by four turned columns, a tray with zig-zag path for the steel ball oscillator suspended below the movement, glazed rectangular cover, all resting on an inlaid wood base with integrated drawer.
CONDITION: this clock is in excellent condition, the brass with some dust and fingerprints. Very nice wood base. Movement with ink stamp reading "Made in China". Includes a stainless steel ball and winding key. Dimensions are for the glass cover on wood base.

DESCRIPTION: Year Clock Co., New York, mantel clock, year running, time only, spring driven brass movement with a rear-wind lever escapement in a ceramic Art Nouveau case resembling bronze with patina depicting two female figures on either side of the dial, roman numeral white enamel dial, and blued steel spade hands.
CONDITION: case is in very good condition. The bronze effect is convincing. A fine crack in the front of the case has been repaired and is really only visible from inside the clock. There is some worn glaze on the back and to the hair of the figure on the right. The case is stamped "COPYRIGHT 1903 / M.F.O. / CROWN MENNA". Dial is excellent. Original hands. Both movement and dial are signed with company logo. Movement is "Series A, No. 145" with the last patent date Dec 29, 1903. Clocks by this company are uncommon and this case is very unusual.

Brewster, Bristol, Conn., a mahogany shelf clock with Joseph Ives patent tin plate movement, the arch top case with turned columns, round, arched molding, and figure eight door, the upper portion with brass bezel, the lower with molded rosewood frame containing a tablet depicting Chronos driving a chariot across a starlit sky on a blue ground, roman numeral painted dial, and 8 day, spring driven time and strike movement having ribbed, brass bushed tin plates, roller pinions, and roller verge, striking on a coil gong, and with business card size label, printed on glossy card stock, and tacked to the interior
CONDITION: case in an old finish, with minor dings and losses to surface, back edge of case with minor losses at top, lower portion of door with repaired break, tablet original, but cracked and with minor losses to decoration, hinges a bit loose, dial repainted, movement very good, ticks and strikes, minor adjustment required, label good. Hands and pendulum bob missing, but not difficult to find correct period ones. Noah L. Brewster, son of E.C. Brewster, was granted a patent for this case. He and Elias Ingraham purchased and cased the remainding 2,000 of these movements from the estate of Joseph Ives who died in 1862.

CONDITION: Oak case in an old finish has a small shrinkage crack at the front center and on the back right side. Original paper dial has some staining in the center. Original hands. There are thousands of Terwilliger reproductions, but few originals survive. New Haven produced them only about a year because they were poor timekeepers.

CONDITION: the black metal base is in good condition with a few very small chips to the finish. The clock case, spelter figure, and applied metal ornaments have been restored with a dark bronze finish. The trident is a replacement. The dial has yellowed slightly and has two fine hairlines in the sunk portion. Good hands. Steel pallet jewels. Thick beveled glass with a few small scratches. The movement is signed and comes with the proper offset style of Ansonia pendulum.

DESCRIPTION: Attributed to Gebrüder Junghans, Germany, small swinging mystery clock, 8 day, time only, spring driven brass movement in a compound pendulum, held aloft by a cast spelter figure of a young woman with a basket of fruit standing atop a turned wood base, arabic numeral white enamel dial, with blued steel hands.
CONDITION: the spelter figure has been spray painted with a dark bronze color. Jeweled bar is a bit bent and loose. Small plaque on the turned base reads "1er FRUIT". The unsigned dial is very good. The movement is not signed, but the winding and setting knobs are centrally located and the mainspring is contained within a going barrel. It certainly looks like an authentic Junghans movement. Both figure and swing arm are old, but it is hard to say if they stared life together.

The fusees will need to be restrung. Only a small fragment of the inner label remains. Original tablets have some background loss, especially the border of the upper tablet. Clear glass in the upper part of the door is modern. The wide wood rim of the right fusee is partially missing. Minute hand has been repaired.

DESCRIPTION: Brisson-Villard, Angoulême, France, mantel clock, 8 day, time and strike, round spring driven movement with thread suspension, black slate base on turned brass feet with two white alabaster columns supporting a slate pediment with applied gilt floral ornaments, signed roman numeral white enamel dial surrounded by gilt bezel with pierced swag below, gilt hands.
CONDITION: The slate case is in good condition with a couple of very small chips on the edges. The black portions of the case appear restored. Signed enamel dial has breaks that have been repaired between 2 and 3 o'clock. Gilt ornaments are in good condition. Rear convex glass covering the movement is very good. Original hands and pendulum.

CONDITION: Refinished mahogany veneered case in nice condition has a couple small chips and small repair on the upper door cross piece. Both painted tablets are replacements. Original painted dial has a partial crack at the 9 o'clock position and some loss at the mounting screws. Someone has removed the stretcher strips on the dial and glued a thicker piece of wood on the back to possibly correct a warped condition. Original hands. Clean label inside.

DESCRIPTION: Chelsea Clock Co., Boston, Mass., ship's clock with 6 inch silvered dial, 8 day, time and ship's strike, spring driven jeweled balance wheel movement in a brass case with screw on bezel.
CONDITION: Brass case has a nice old patina with some spotting on the top. The rear flange has been bend up in one location, but it's not very noticeable. Glass retaining ring is absent. The clock comes mounted to a wood backboard. The signed movement is serial number 131424.

DESCRIPTION: China, bracket clock, 8 day, time and strike, spring driven fusee movement with verge escapement and center seconds in a pierced rosewood case, cast brass dial mask, roman numeral white enamel dial with pierced steel hands, all on a two piece swiveling fancy wood base.
CONDITION: generally good condition with evidence of some recent gluing of the wood case parts. The movement has thick plates and an integrated pendulum bob. Engraved back plate with what are probably meant to be Western characters. Enamel dial is very good. Movement ticks and strikes. After China opened to Western trade in the 1970s, many antique bracket clocks were imported to the United States. By the late 1980s they had run out of the old ones and had started making new ones. Although modern, this is a good looking clock.

DESCRIPTION: China, bracket clock, 8 day, time and strike, spring driven fusee movement with verge escapement and center seconds in a rosewood case with fretwork and inlaid mother of pearl, cast brass dial mask, roman numeral white enamel dial and black steel hands, all on a matching carved rosewood base.
CONDITION: the wood case is in good condition with a few cracks on the sides that have been glued back together. Cracks on both sides of the base. The enamel dial and surround are in good condition. There are chains on both fusees. The movement is complete and running. Antique versions of this clocks were imported into the U.S. in great quantities in the 1970s. When the antiques had all been sold, the Chinese began to manufacture convincing reproductions in large quantities. This clock is one of those reproductions.

CONDITION: case has some small chips to the edges and a few just below the drum that hold the dial. Very nice green marble accents. Enamel dials are excellent although the Bennett retailer name is hard to read. Pallet jewels are carnelian. Movement is signed by Ducasse & Claveau.
