Lot#: 259

DESCRIPTION: Mobile Watch Co., Switzerland, "Oscillator" swinging mystery clock, 8 day, time only, spring driven pendulum movement in a swinging compound pendulum, arabic numeral white enamel dial with blued steel hands, all held aloft by a cast patinated figure of a young man playing a long trumpet-like instrument, and standing atop a turned wood base.
CONDITION: the spelter figure is in very good condition with the smallest of missing bronze finish. A rear plate on the base of the figure may read "GERMANY" but it is difficult to be certain. The turned wood base has a few minor bumps and nicks. Nice old patina on the Swiss-made swing arm. Bottom finial may be absent. Rear of the case has had its gold colored finish scrubbed off. Signed dial is excellent and reads "OSCILLATOR / 8 DAYS / Mobile Watch Co. / SWISS MADE". Signed movement with patent numbers. Small watch-size movement actually has a very small pendulum and a 1908 patent date. Movement ticks.
