DESCRIPTION: France, "Volubilis" swinging mystery clock, 8 day, time only, spring driven movement contained within the upper green patinated sphere of the compound pendulum, applied roman numerals, cast metal ornament and fancy pierced brass hands, all held aloft by the patinated cast figure of a woman on a turned wood base titled as above and attributed to the sculptor J. Caussé.
CONDITION: wood base with minor dings, patination on figure is very good with a bronze color for the skin tones and a slightly greener tone for the dress, statue casting is signed on the back, plaque on wood base with title and name of sculptor, clock is in very good condition, movement stamped "R / 1502", movement escapes, the swing arm is too short for the statue so we conclude that they may not have started life together, thumb screw to retain swing arm is replaced.
