DESCRIPTION: C. Grivolas & Cie., Paris, France, "Pendule 400 Jours" or 400-day clock, year running, spring driven movement with torsion pendulum in a fancy Louis XVI gilt bronze case with four fluted columns before three curved beveled glasses, roman numeral polychrome enamel dial with pierced brass hands, spherical gilt pendulum with extension rod.
CONDITION: top final needs attaching, gilding is worn and has been painted over, suspension is intact, porcelain dial with garlands is excellent. Dial and movement reading "Pendule 400 Jours". The movement is also stamped "No.B.11- 2664-2". A nut has come off one of the columns and is now caught in the bottom dust cover. Bezel and back door close with difficulty. A very hard to find item sure to attract the attention of year clock collectors.
