Lot#: 729

DESCRIPTION: Attributed to Andreas Huber, Munich Germany or Jahresuhrenfabrik, Triberg, Germany, 400 day clock, year running, time only, spring driven movement with torsion pendulum on a brass base with gilt cast caryatid figures supporting the movement, arabic numeral cream enamel dial with black spade hands, all under a glass dome.
CONDITION: the brass base has dulled ever so slightly. Gilt castings are bright and in excellent condition. Dial and hands appear perfect. Correct disc pendulum. The suspension is complete. Glass dome is a good fit. The movement corresponds to Terwilliger's plate 1471 and is stamped with "PATENT ANGEMELDET / PATENT APPLIED". The disc pendulum matches Terwilliger pendulum number 21, which is often attributed to Jahresuhrenfabrik, but widely used by others. This is an uncommon, early, and very attractive clock.
