DESCRIPTION: Clocks- 3 (Three): (1) Seth Thomas Clock Co., Thomaston, Conn., outdoor gallery clock, 8 day, time only, twin spring movement with simple balance wheel in a bench-made sheet copper case, 11 inch painted metal dial with arabic numerals, black spade hands, c1920; (2) Seth Thomas Clock Co., Thomaston, Conn., "Drop Octagon 12 Inch", 8 day, time only, spring movement in a rosewood veneer case, 12 inch paper dial with arabic numerals, black spade hands, c1880. (3) Seth Thomas Clock Co., Thomaston, Conn., "Office No. 11", 30 day, time only, twin spring movement in an oak case, 12 inch painted metal dial with arabic numerals, black spade hands, c1921.
CONDITION: (1) Copper case with uneven dark patina from time spent in the weather. Cork seal behind dial and bezel is complete but very dry. Dial is legible but dark along the outside edge and around the winding arbors where the paint has worn thin. Typical Seth Thomas marine movement. A very unique looking clock; (2) Case has been nicely rubbed down. The rosewood is unexpected but looks like a factory job. New paper dial. Partial inner label; (3) Case with a good original finish. Metal dial with a few small scratches and flakes. Good hands. The backboard and dial mounts are newer wood. Dimensions are for the Drop Octagon (2) Sold "as is".
