Adams & Co., Liverpool, a man's gold pocket watch, 7 jewels, key wind and set gilt full plate fusee movement with lever escapement in a 14 karat, yellow gold, hinged back and bezel, engine turned and engraved open face case, roman numeral gold dial with engraved c scrolls enframing a shoreline scene, gold hands, serial #11697, 50mm, 105.2g TW, c1840.
CONDITION:
CASE: Very fine scratches on outer surface of case; Fine scratches on inner surface of case; Dome with two dimples, raised from the inside of the case; Engine turning and engraving with moderate wear; One hinge plug absent; Bow with wear; Precious metal content tested. DIAL: Minor scratches. HANDS: Mismatched; Seconds hand missing. MOVEMENT PLATES: Minor marks and scratches on plate; Group of fine scratches to right of balance cock foot; Some screws replaced; Balance with a few specks of oxide; Dirty, oily. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Not running, good staff, chain detached from fusee, tries to run with pressure on train, needs service.
