DESCRIPTION: England, tall clock, 8 day, time and strike, weight driven brass movement in an associated walnut case with mahogany veneer accents and French feet, reeded corner columns flanking the door, broken arch and brass finial surmounting the hood, painted iron dial depicting the Royal Highland Regiment known as "The Black Watch", subsidiary date and seconds dials, blackened brass hands.
CONDITION: the case has some missing veneer and some old veneer repairs. One of the swan's necks has been repaired. Small molding losses. The movement has been associated with the case as indicated by the the freshly cut seatboard. The dial is just a bit too big, but doesn't look bad in place. The dial is a bit dirty, but has a very interesting subject matter in the British soldiers. Date hand is missing. Old pendulum bob and weights. Old glass in the hood door.
