DESCRIPTION: Unknown, England, hall clock, 8 day, time and strike with Westminster chimes, three train weight driven brass movement with deadbeat escapement in a walnut case with molded base, glazed door, and hood with broken arch, arched dial with silvered chapter ring with applied brass numerals, pierced and engraved spandrels and dial center, moon phase dial, chime / silent selector, and subsidiary seconds dial.
CONDITION: The case is in fairly good condition with a very small amount of veneer loss in the pediment. The finish has started to deteriorate, having turned rough and light in spots. The glass in the bonnet door is absent. The movement has heavy plates and is comparable in quality to clocks by Elliot. The movement is stamped "Made in England" and "7663" in the back plate. The dial has some green oxidation on the top. The paint has largely flaked off of the moon phase dial. The weight shells have turned brown. The end of the threaded rod at the bottom of the pendulum has broken off. Movement strikes and chimes on large gongs.
