DESCRIPTION: France, empire portico clock, 8 day, time and strike, spring driven brass pendule de Paris movement in a patinated brass case on cast brass feet, the base and top with applied gilt floral ornaments, four Corinthian columns with gilt bases and capitals, the gilt bezel with repeating rose-and-leaf design, roman numerals, cast dial center, pendulum with knife-edge suspension, blued steel Breguet hands, all on a painted wood base under a glass dome.
CONDITION: The patinated case is in very good condition. Some fine scratches to the black roman numerals. Ornaments and dial with much of the original gilding. The movement is stamped with word "Butte". Wood base has been repainted. Base once had feet which are now absent. The dome is old, and perhaps original to the clock.
