DESCRIPTION: Edward Tiddeman, Canterbury, England, Georgian bracket clock, 8 day, time and strike, spring driven fusee movement with verge escapement and integrated bob pendulum in a mahogany veneered case, with elegant bell top and brass bracket feet, engraved brass dial, mock pendulum aperture, strike / select subsidiary dial in the arch, and pierced steel hands.
CONDITION: case with veneer repairs and some losses. The four small brass finials are missing from top. The brass dial has no silvering. Original hands are fretted brass. Brass cable on the fusees. Movement has engraved rear plate. The movement is dirty, but still ticking and striking on a large bell. Some oxidation is visible on the steel components.
