CONDITION: case has a nicely rubbed down finish with one small veneer loss on the upper left side. Bottom finial will need to be glued. Entire surface of the silvered dial has slightly yellowed. The minute hand was bent, but straightened. Old glass in door, lock has a working key. Signed trapezoidal movement has the Médaille d'Or award stamp and serial number 14099.

DESCRIPTION: Ansonia Clock Co., New York, "Huntress" figural swinger, 8 day, time only, spring-driven movement mounted inside a brass sphere with cast ribbon ornament and applied Arabic numerals, Louis XV style hands, held aloft by a patinated spelter figure of a young woman carrying game birds in her other hand, standing on an ebonized cast iron base.
CONDITION: The clock arm is in good original condition, the spheres with discolored lacquer, some tarnish and minor dings, and the cast top ornament with a solder repair on the back. The figure, cast in brass, is a reproduction. That said, it is a fairly convincing one. The added wooden base and presence of lamp hardware suggest that it may have served as a lamp at some point or simply acquired some parts from one. The twisted wire that connects the figure's hand to the birds has been replaced with some steel cable. The stamped movement ticks, but was not tested long term.

DESCRIPTION: Black Forest, Germany, railway house cuckoo clock, 3 day, time and strike with calling cuckoo bird, spring driven two train movement with a single fusee on the strike train in a softwood case with hardwood carvings, white enamel cartouche numerals on the dial, and bone hands.
CONDITION: main structure of building/case appears to be original. The carvings and finials on the front of the clock -- possibly rosewood -- are more recent creations, done by a craftsman with considerable ability. Old cast brass movement is unsigned. Single fusee has steel cable connecting it to the spring barrel. Bellows have been restored with new leather. One of the two whistles has been repapered or replaced. Tip of bone minute hand has been broken off. Though not entirely old, this is a handsome clock.

CONDITION: The oak case has been rubbed down and has a few old dings and scratches. There are four numbers impressed into the roof on the right side, probably a consequence of someone using it as a writing surface. The roof also has a split that is four inches long on the right back edge. The dial is in very good condition. Red cloth inside side doors is a modern replacement Heavy brass movement is stamped with the W&H trademark. The movement ticks, strikes, and chimes, but was not tested long term.

Lock on rear door is missing. The dial has a bit of dark tarnish in the center matte area and silvered chapter ring. The movement ticks, strike, and chimes, but could probably use attention.

CONDITION: dirty, slate with minor flakes and chips, right side of base with crack, right side molding above cavetto with crack, plinth with chips below finial, finial loose, feet loose, front door lower hinge detached from case, upper hinge bent, dial with minor losses to numerals, hands with minor specks of oxide, rear glass with chips and substantial loss at upper right, movement dirty, ticks, strikes, and chimes correctly, pendulum rod replaced. Auguste Ecalle was located at the Palais Royal, Galerie Beaujolais, from 1880- 90. He was known for his work with precision timekeepers and chronometry, and was agent for Dent in Paris.

The well-built movement has nicely finished plates and the original fusee chain. The movement ticks vigorously but was not tested extensively This clock would be an impressive addition to any suitable space.

DESCRIPTION: Unsigned, probably Massachusetts, 8 day, weight driven brass movement patent timepiece, with mahogany case and gilt, rope molded frames, cast brass side arms, cast brass bezel, and brass ball and spire finial, throat glass with green and gilt bordered lattice on a red ground above a red rising sun style ornament with gilt rays, and signed "Willard's Patent", the lower glass with matching border and depicting the battle between the USS Constitution and the HMS Guerriere, white painted roman numeral dial with steel barbed hands, and brass clad pendulum.
CONDITION: Mahogany case has an old finish has a small repair on the bottom left side. The bottom board and one glue block have been replaced. Original painted dial is in very nice condition for its age and is mounted to the case with two L-turns. Nicely made original hands. Both tablets are original which makes this example exceptional. Original lead weight. Period winding key. Finial is a replacement.

The calendar roller papers show some discoloration. Both door glasses are original. Overall a very clean and original example of the Parlor Calendar No. 6.

CONDITION: The case is in excellent condition and retains an original finish. The original paper dial for the time movement has been overlaid with a painted dial. The paper calendar dial is original and shows some aging. The calendar drum papers are original. The hands are all original. The movement is unsigned but is identical to the the Welch, Spring & Co. movement shown for the Ithaca No. 0 Regulator on page 122 of Tran Duy Ly's "Calendar Clocks reference book. With the exception of a very few minor surface scratches and the time dial, this is an excellent and beautiful example of this scarce Ithaca clock.

The calendar drum labels are original and darkened with age. The weight is period and may be original to the clock but has been modified, possibly to fix a broken weight hook. This is a scarce model among the Seth Thomas Office Calendar clock line and is in excellent condition.

The oak case is in very good condition and has been refinished. There is a vertical crack at both the top and bottom of the door. One of the two lower finials shows some loss to the tip. The bottom drop finial is missing, There are excellent labels inside the case. The calendar drum papers are original and darkened with age. Both the painted time and calendar dials are in excellent condition with very minimal loss. The hands are all original. The door glass is original.

DESCRIPTION: Joseph Ives, Brooklyn, New York, 8 day, time and strike, weight driven brass and iron plate movement wall clock. This is an unusual example as these clocks were made and sold as a looking glass clock, but this one has a crotch mahogany panel instead.
CONDITION: Mahogany and mahogany veneered case in an old finish has had some veneer repairs on the base, the sides and top below the crest. The unusual crest is birdseye maple and the case has twist mahogany full columns. Original dial has been repainted. Tablet is a later replacement. Original interior paint and on back of door panel suggests the panel is correct. Original hands. There is some damage to the minute hand. Lower right dial post will need to be reattached to front movement plate.

Morrill who was a cousin of Benjamin Morrill and may have been an apprentice of Benjamin.

DESCRIPTION: William G. Emerson, Newport, Maine, 8 day, time and strike, weight driven brass movement New Hampshire style mirror clock.
CONDITION: Stained pine case and mirror has a strip of hardboard added to reinforce the base. The gilt areas on the mirror frame now have gold paint. Dial glass and mirror are later replacements. The movement and dial are original to each other, but we feel the movement and dial did not start life in this case as there are inpainted areas on the dial that do not match the current method of attachment. A picture of an Emerson movement and dial can be found in "Clockmakers & Clockmaking in Maine 1770-1900" by Joseph Katra, page 132.

The tablet glass is original. The original painted dial has some spots of inpainting and loss at the dial edge. Original hands. CONDITION: The case has its original finish with a few minor scratches and losses. The two tablets have been expertly touched up. The signed painted dial has a tiny amount of paint loss around the mounting screws. The nicely made movement, stamped "680", is mounted to a thin piece of plywood which seems typical of this company. The movement is signed by the Derry Manufacturing Co., a firm that was acquired by Herschede in 1912.

DESCRIPTION: Unsigned Boston, Mass., area, 8 day, weight driven brass movement patent or banjo timepiece.
CONDITION: Mahogany and mahogany veneered case in an old finish has chips to the veneer on the edges of the bottom door and some loss and repairs on the waist door. There is a small repair on the bottom right side next to the carved side piece. There is veneer loss and some damage at the corner of the bottom bracket. The bottom mahogany panel has age cracked. Original painted dial has loss at the mounting pins, at the winding arbor and a couple spots on the edge. Original hands. The pin to the side latch on the top door is missing.

DESCRIPTION: Massachusetts, likely Boston, early 8 day, weight driven brass movement patent or banjo timepiece.
CONDITION: Mahogany and mahogany veneered case in an old and possibly original finish. The throat frame is attached to the case with four screws has some age cracks, small repairs on the top corners and small piece missing on the lower right corner. Bottom door has a small repair at the lower right corner. Throat tablet is old with gold paint used to repair gilding loss. Bottom tablet looks original with repairs to the background and center area. Original dial is fastened to the case with two L-turns and has been repainted. T-bridge movement. Period hands. One of the diamonds on the right side arm has broken off, but is included. Replaced eagle finial.

DESCRIPTION: New Hampshire or Maine, 8 day, weight driven brass movement gilt patent or banjo timepiece
CONDITION: Mahogany and gilt front case in an old finish. It appears that some of the gilt areas are now gold painted. Unusual movement is mounted to the case with a screw through the backplate. The movement has very thin wheel spokes, a half moon cutout and unusual keystone shape The brass sidearms have unusual spacers that are similar to New Hampshire versions. Original iron dial has surface stains and some loss at the mounting pins and the edges. Because of the design of the movement the keyhole in the dial is closer to 3 o'clock. A small piece of rope molding is missing at the bottom of the throat frame and possibly one at the top. Throat tablet is a replacement. The bottom tablet is old, but possibly a replacement also. Period hands.

DESCRIPTION: Attributed to David Williams, Newport, Rhode Island, 8 day, weight brass movement patent or banjo timepiece.
CONDITION: Refinished mahogany and mahogany veneered case has some small chips and a couple missing pieces on the bottom door. The throat door has veneer damage in a couple areas. This case is of unusual construction as the bottom box is assembled with butt jointed boards rather than mitered corners. The backboard has a center piece of pine and two sides of mahogany. A break in the backboard was repaired with corrugated nails. Both tablets are replacements. The dial has been repainted. There are extra holes in the backboard in the head area. Modern hands. Replaced finial.
