CONDITION: (1) Holes added for time and strike winding arbors, probably an 8 day spring-driven movement. Thin split in the wood through the arch. Some scratches to the dial. There is about .5 inches of paint loss along the right edge. Paint flaking off in small spots near the 6:00 position Modified and replaced horizontal supports on the back of the dial. Attractive scene with trees and houses in the arch. (2) Some loss of paint along the edges of the dial. Large screw holes in four places. Some transparent tape residue on the upper left side. Gold and red colors still vibrant.

(2) Rectangular style dome, 8 inches by 5 inches at the base by 13 inches high on a molded ebonized base with turned feet. (3) Rectangular style dome, 8 inches by 5.5 inches at the base by 12 inches high on a molded ebonized base.
CONDITION: Sold "as is". These rectangular domes were often used for French portico and French gilt metal clocks. If those clocks are found with no bezel with glass over the dial and no rear door, these clocks were originally under a dome to protect their movements and gilt decoration from dust and dirt. Unfortunately a large percentage of them have now lost their domes and replacements are difficult to find.

DESCRIPTION: Seth Thomas Clock Co., Thomaston Conn., “No. 15 Hour Strike Tower Clock”, time and strike, weight driven movement with Graham deadbeat escapement in green, black and gold painted cast iron frame, serial #1343, dated March 19, 1906 including including 4-way differential, motion works, one wooden 30in dial and hour hand, hand forged weight hooks, pulleys, transmission, distribution linkage, 10” weights and crank
CONDITION: the black and green paint with gold pin striping is original on the mechanism. The legs appear repainted. Many iron parts have surface rust. Brass parts have dark patina. The strike mechanism governor fan ratchet gear has a pulley welded to it and the fan is missing one blade. The winding shaft for the strike mechanism is absent. The pendulum bob and several other minor parts are absent. Many of the Seth Thomas accessories listed above in the description are original including the dial. These parts are listed on the factory document included in the photos. This desirable small American striking movement was removed from the Jackson County Court House in Edna, Texas in 1954. Acquired by Elmer Carter in the 1950’s and stored in a Texas barn for 60 years untouched. Jackson County court house was the site of a famous case in 1954, Hernandez vs. Texas, disputing the case where a Mexican American was denied the right to a jury “of his peers." DESCRIPTION: Stephen Hasham, Charlestown, New Hampshire, 2 (Two) tower clock motion works, wooden frames, brass gears and steel bridge along with 2 (Two) wooden and beveled geared linkage pieces.
CONDITION: one motion works has the minute hand gear absent with some rust and the other is complete and covered with some bird droppings. The linkage pieces retain their original black paint. Please see the article "The Amazing Stephen Hasham" by Frederick Shelley and Donn Lathrop in NAWCC Bulletin of December 1993, #293. Stephen Hasham was an eccentric and inventor, born in 1764, who lived until 100 years old. These items are from the collection of David Proper of Keene, NH a renowned clock collector, historian and author.

DESCRIPTION: France, three piece mantel garniture set, 8 day, time and strike, spring driven pendule de Paris movement, the case with cast Rococo style base supporting a sphere with applied roman numerals, the hands in the form of a snake, all surmounted by a cast metal putto with outstretched wings holding a garland, the two matching side pieces with putti holding aloft the candleabra.
CONDITION: the cast metal base has lost much of its gilding. The spherical body of the clock and two hemispheres of the side pieces have been painted a dark shade of pink. Very nice snake-form hands. Count wheel and bell movement is stamped with a single anchor mark. The movement is oily.

Square movement is signed by Tiffany in the upper left corner and with the "J.E.D." trademark on the bottom. Movement strikes on a gong.

DESCRIPTION: Ansonia Clock Co., New York, "Apex" crystal regulator shelf clock with a spring driven time and half hour rack strike movement with a visible escapement, a fancy pendulum and jewelled bezel in a rich gold and brass case.
CONDITION: The case retains a nice gilt and brass finish. The front door glass is chipped away at the top right corner. The rear door glass is cracked. The other two glasses are fine. The porcelain dial is in excellent condition and fitted with a jeweled sash (see Tran Duy Ly's Ansonia Book, page 109, number 280): The hands are original. The movement is signed.

CONDITION: The case is in very good condition with restoration to the bronze finish. The cartouche dial is in excellent condition. The hands are original. The rack and snail strike movement is signed. The statue seems a bit deep for the case top but since it was available as a separate item, it may not have matched this specific base.

The signed porcelain dial has a hairline crack at 4 and some minor chipping at the time winding arbor. The beveled glass in the bezel is in excellent condition. The movement is signed.
