CONDITION: This uncommon model has been professionally restored with a silvery finish and is in excellent condition. The dial and hands are original and in excellent condition. The beveled glass in the dial sash is free of any chips. The movement is signed.

Howard & Co., Boston, Mass., for Ashcroft, New York, marine lever, 8 day, time only, spring-driven movement with jeweled lever escapement in brass case with hinged bezel, 6.5 inch silvered dial inscribed with "Bureau of Lighthouses / Camellia / 1910", subsidiary seconds, black spade hands, movement serial number 1755.
CONDITION: The brass case has an original dark, splotchy patina. The protective lacquer over the silvered dial has yellowed, but is likely original. The hour hand has been repaired and the seconds hand is absent. The well-made Howard movement has 11 jewels and finely finished plates. The movement ticks. The Bureau of Lighthouses was a United States government agency from 1910 until 1939 when it was merged into the United States Coast Guard. It was responsible for the maintenance of all lighthouses and light vessels in the United States. The Camellia, surely among its earliest vessels, was a 116 foot long lighthouse tender built for service on the waters of Lake Pontchartrain and the Mississippi Sound.

Howard & Co., Boston, Mass., "Marble Dial No. 20" wall clock, 8 day, time only, weight driven movement with maintaining power in white painted wood case with 24 inch white marble dial, black painted chapter ring and Roman numerals with red arabic five minute markers, signed "E. Howard & Co. / Boston" in red below the center arbor, black trefoil hands.
CONDITION: The thick marble dial is in very good condition with no major breaks and very few edge chips. Some of the paint on the dial has been touched up, especially the red minute markers, but most appears original. The painted wood box looks old and correct and was reglued on the left side at one point. There is some excess glue visible from the inside. The weight is the correct rectangular type. The hands and pendulum look correct too compared to other examples of this model that have sold at auction. The robust Howard movement is signed and complete with its stop works. The cable has been replaced with braided nylon cord. The top of pendulum stick has a small splint glued on to repair a split. The movement runs briskly, but was not tested long term. This clock is very heavy and fragile and this should be noted if it is to be shipped.

CONDITION: brass case has some remnants of nickel plating around the bezel, but it is mostly worn away. Silvered dial is in decent shape with a couple of fine scratches and a bit of tarnish darkening the surface. Original hands have been bent in the past and have some rust. Glass is absent. Seconds hand and rating arbor pointer is missing. The center arbor is broken where the motion works mount to it above the front movement plate. Movement ticks.

There is a very good B. B. Lewis label inside the clock case. The clock was designed to make the base removable so that it could function as a shelf clock. The base piece will need a new dowel to attach it to the case. The door glass is original. Overall this is a very scarce clock, particularly retaining the base, and in good condition.

DESCRIPTION: Seth Thomas Clock Co., Thomaston, Conn., "Mark-I Boat Clock", 8 day, time only, spring driven movement with rear wind in a black phenolic case with 3.5 inch black dial reading "U.S. Navy / 15485, 1941". The clock is mounted to a mahogany board with a barometer made by Fee & Stemwedel, dated 1942 and a compass made by Sherrill Research Corporation.
CONDITION: black phenolic cases of clock and barometer show the typical mottling that develops with age. The clock retains its original mounting plate. The dial is in excellent condition. The luminous paint on the hands and dial has darkened. All three instruments show a bit of wear commensurate with age and use.

CONDITION: Dark oak case in nice condition in an old finish. Finials are nice proper copies. The low plinths the finials sit on have been restored. The original dial has been repainted. This model was offered with a silvered dial c.1893, but later examples had painted dials. The model as shown in Tran Duy Ly's "Waterbury Clocks & Watches" p. 198, #599, shows the model from the 1893 trade catalog. However, a few years later Waterbury added brass embellishments to the case and their later twist-style brass weights. Original pendulum has a small ding. Original Waterbury hands. Movement signed.

DESCRIPTION: Waterbury Clock Co., Waterbury, Conn., "Regulator No. 4", 8 day, double weight driven brass movement wall timepiece. This case was also used by Welch for their "Regulator G" model. Although unmarked, this one an A- frame movement similar to the solid plate A-frame movements used in some other Waterbury regulators.
CONDITION: Walnut and walnut veneered case nice condition in an old finish. There are a couple plugged holes in the right side door column and the bottom ribbed piece just below the door. Original painted dial has some staining and loss in the center area. Nice nickel plated pendulum bob. Original time hands. Seconds hand is replaced. Tabs have been added to the dial pan to attach the dial as the original holes got enlarged.

Otherwise, this is a superb original example of the Lucca, with good painted dial, hands, flocked black dust paper, and good gilt pendulum with pressed glass insert. Definitely worth making a center final for this one.
