CONDITION: there are only a couple of small flakes in the onyx and the cloisonne is in excellent condition. The original mercury pendulum retains its mercury and the dial has a couple of light hairlines and the central dial insert is loose. The movement strikes but does not tick..

CONDITION: except for very minor edge chips, the green stone is in fine condition. The clock's brasses are brightly polished, but the feet of the side pieces appear to have been painted gold. Note that the urns have removable cups. The enamel dial, with its multicolor floral garlands, is fine; all beveled glasses are good except for one small lower corner chip (not seen) in a side panel. The compensating pendulum is intact. The movement appears very clean, and its ticks and strikes. A very handsome set. Ht of clock 21 in

The figure is screw mounted to the top, but the screws are absent. The movement ticks and strikes but has not been fully tested and the bell is a replacement. This large, heavy and very fancy clock is in excellent condition and has a lot of eye appeal.

James Girard Conlon was born Aug. 12, 1906 at Boston, Mass., MA, the son of James E. Conlon and wife Mary G. (Dalton) Conlon. James E. Conlon made copies of Willard's banjo, lyre, girandole, Mass. shelf, and lighthouse clocks in the early 1900's. James G. took over his father's business in 1948.

DESCRIPTION: Leland Hurst, Centennial, CO, 8 day, weight-driven brass movement double pendulum Astronomical dial wall timepiece. Mr. Hurst built five of these cases. The movement was built by a Mr. Don Schaffer.
CONDITION: Nicely made cherry case with an Austrian coin inserted in the bottom bracket. Double wind brass weight movement that runs with two pendulums. The first pendulum regulates the timepiece and the second is a sympathetic pendulum that swings in unison with the first. The two pendulums also have an Austrian coin inserted in the center. Mr. Hurst reports this timepiece has running issues. It maybe the support for the pendulum is not rigid enough and is causing the problem.

DESCRIPTION: E. Howard & Co., Boston, Mass., "No. 5 Regulator" banjo wall clock, 8 days, time only, weight driven movement in a rosewood grained mahogany case with reverse painted throat and lower tablet and painted metal dial
CONDITION: the case retains good graining. The bottom has been repaired from the weight coming through and there is a split in the bottom of the throat frame. The weight baffle and pendulum bob are replaced. The glasses have been touched up / reblacked. The dial is original and in good condition and there is a great original label at bottom of case.

DESCRIPTION: E. Howard & Co., Boston, Mass., "No. 4 Regulator" banjo wall clock, weight driven timepiece in a cherry case with rosewood graining and movement stamped "A. Howard".
CONDITION: the movement is signed A. Howard, (Albert, cousin & apprentice of Edward, learned to make clocks and later managed movement production for Edward): The dial, paper over zinc, bears signature, E. Howard, Boston, Mass., no extra holes in case. Dial paper with some scratches and losses. Throat glass is cracked [and glued], gold oval on bottom glass with minor losses. Pendulum bob is smooth. Pulley from Seth Thomas should be changed. Iron weight with lead keystone and steel hook, and with "4" cast in. Bottom section of case with 4 replaced glue blocks, a vertical glue repair, and squeezed in slightly making throat piece a tight fit. Hands are original

CONDITION: Walnut case with ebonized accents in original finish with a little loss on the columns and on base. Original silver and black paper dial with some wear to the numbers. Original glass calendar dial is very nice for its age. Original hands. The silver leaf on the side panel edges is pretty much intact. Original glass pendulum has chip on the back edge.

CONDITION: The case finish appears to be original and has a nice soft lustre. The original paper time dial is quite worn. The calendar dial is in much better condition but has some yellowing. The calendar dial roller papers are original with nice aging. The hands are original. The movement is signed as expected with "E. N. Welch, Forestville, Conn., manufactured for the Ithaca Calendar Clock Co.". The very tip of the case base may be a later replacement, but extremely well done and matched to the case.

CONDITION: The case has been very nicely refinished. The paper time/calendar dial plate is in excellent condition. The hands are original. The movement is signed E. N. Welch, made for the Ithaca Calendar Clock Company. The base to the case has been professionally restored and it matches the rest of the case exactly. The visible nickel plated pendulum bob is original. The overall appearance of this clock is excellent.

DESCRIPTION: F. Kroeber Clock Co., New York, "Indian Hunter V.P.", 8 day, time and strike spring brass movement metal front mantel clock. This a Nicholas Muller case No. 181 and is stamped on the case. The statue is copied from the original by John Quincy Adams Ward, a famous American sculptor, which was completed in 1886 and stands in Central Park, New York. Herman Muller, son of Nicholas and brother-in-law of Kroeber, was granted a patent for this case design in 1880, seven years after his father's death.
CONDITION: Cast spelter front case has some scattered surface wear. Statue has some minor surface abrasion. Original paper dial is soiled with wear and abrasions. Original hands and pendulum. Nice label on the back of the case.

This model is not named, and is later in the Kroeber line, striking on four bells in bottom of case. An identical example is in the collection of the American Clock & Watch Museum, Bristol, Conn.,

CONDITION: Refinished walnut case with a small knick on the base, a small repair on the dial mask and on each corner just below the curved top. Original black and gold dials with some minor wear. Original Fashion glass and hands. The top left corner molding may be replaced. One of the finials is old while the other two are modern. None may be original as they don't match the finials shown in the catalogs.

DESCRIPTION: Sonora Chime Co., New York, 8 days, time and strike spring brass movement Sonora chime striking on 10 tuned bells bracket clock. The Sonora Chime Co. was making chime movements and purchasing clock movements from the New Haven Clock Co. and casing them up. This is before Seth Thomas purchased the rights from Sonora to make the movements in 1912.
CONDITION: Mahogany and mahogany veneered case in original finish has some minor dings and abrasions. Original silvered dial has scattered light tarnished areas. Original hands. Inlayed front access panel has a very small piece of inlay missing. The backboard is a replacement.
ESTIMATE: $3000 - $4000
