DESCRIPTION: Admiral Fitzroy Barometer and time piece, English, in a walnut case with carved top and bottom. The printed paper label backing the barometer gives full details on use of the instrument, which includes a thermometer and an indicator for height of the atmosphere in miles. The spring driven time only movement has a 4" white enamel dial, c1880
CONDITION: the case retains its crazed original finish, rubbed down in some places. It has an age split above the dial and one corner of one of the applied wooden stars surrounding dial is missing. The time piece is not running and the dial has a small chip above 12 and the minute hand is loose. There is a partial label on the rear (15% present) and there is some minor water damage to the bottom of the paper instructions behind the barometer. The mercury is absent. Ht 52"

DESCRIPTION: Ansonia Clock Co., New York, "Huntress Swing", 8 day swinging arm timepiece, the movement contained within the canister, commonly called the "Tin Can" arm, c.1885.
CONDITION: gilt trim on the canister is well preserved while the rods have lost most of the gilt from handling. The nickel plating on the canister is fairly worn. The statue is aged to a nice patina with the bronze finish being the best preserved on the support arm. On other areas it has worn off. It is our opinion that the dial paper was changed. There are a couple of very small paint chips on the base. Hands are original. Ht.24.5"
