DESCRIPTION: Joseph Ives, 8 day time and strike gilt case wall lyre reproduction, c20th century
CONDITION: this a very attractive clock, but the main part of the case is new and has a backboard from a Birge & Fuller clock. This firm was not in business when this model was made. The movement is period and would work in this case, but again was not made by Birge and Fuller. The gilt front to the case is very nicely done and could be an original front that was made whole, but we feel that it was made at the same time as the main case. It is a very attractive example and would make a nice addition to one's collection despite the fact it is not period. This clock was purchased in 1990 and took two years to restore. What we don't know is what did in look like in 1990? Was it only the front and the rest was added? Ht 39"
